Kannawidan Ylocos is an annual festive that celebrates the anniversary of the separation between Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte every 2nd of february. A week celebration that starts on last few days of january until second week of february. It comes from the word tawid or legacy or heritage. This festival was first launched by the term of the late governor Deogracias Victor Savellano in 2008. It is a way to promote awareness and preservation of local culture and heritage of the province. Also, showcasing the local products of every municipality and cities of Ilocos Sur.
Now, the festival is being renamed to Ilocos Sur Festival. This year, Ilocos Sur Festival 2025 - The Grandest Celebrations and 207th Founding Anniversary of the province. A 18 days of celebration showcasing the culture, heritage and history of Ilocos Sur. Through parades, a lot of artists are coming, pageants, competitions and many more fun activities. Governor Jerry Singson says it is “ the grandest celebration” that Ilocos Sur have ever seen.
In conclusion, Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is now the Ilocos Sur Festival is being celebrated by showcasing the province beauty. Also, the local products, culture and heritage of the Province of Ilocos Sur. This was grandest celebration of Ilocanos in every year.
