132rd FOUNDING ANNIVERSARY OF ISNHS: HONORING THE SUCCESS OF ISNHS

Ilocos Sur National High School celebrated its 123rd founding anniversary, honoring the school’s history and achievements. The celebration brought together alumni, students, teachers, and staff to remember the past successes of ISNHS. Through the different programs and activities, this was one of the most memorable events I experienced during my junior high school journey.

On March 21, all students from grades 7-11 participated in the general practice for the field demonstration. It was very tiring but also an enjoyable and fun experience. In the afternoon, we watched the coronation of our classmate, who is also my friend, and cheered for her as she won and crowned as Ms. ISNHS 2025.

March 22 was the big day. The parade started at 7 am, and we walked around Vigan , where different grade levels showcased their props and costumes. After the parade, we gathered in our classroom to have a snack and prepare for the field demonstration. This year, the theme for grade 10 was Mexico for the boys and American Pop Culture/Lady Gaga for the girls, as we embraced the LGBTQ community as our concept. As a result, we were announced as the 4th-place winners, while the grade 10 boys were the 1st-place winners. But what mattered most was that we did our best and we showcased our talent and dedication in performing.

Afterward, we watched the Battle of Bands where the students showcased their musical talents. Their performances were amazing and highlighted the talents of students not only in academics but also in music.

The 123rd founding anniversary of Ilocos Sur National High School was an unforgettable event that celebrated the school's rich history, achievements, and the vibrant spirit. From the tiring yet fun field demonstrations, its been a memorable chapter in my junior high school journey, one that I will always cherish.

LAST

 This is the last quarter and last school year of being an SMC student. Throughout the journey this last quarter, I more gained knowledge and skills that expand my understanding in making web design more easily and efficiently in Ms FrontPage. As we able to make our web designs more easily and not time consuming. With the help of our teachers, we quickly understand how to used the Ms FrontPage.

However, it is a part of process, I encounter challenges  along the way. Including the inserting and proper aligning the pictures within the webpage. I struggle in adjusting the size of the images making sure that can fit in the design and not distracting the text.  

In order to address these challenges, I seek a help to my classmates and teachers. I approached my classmates who have more experience in working in Ms FrontPage and share their knowledge of how effectively insert and adjust images. Also, Ma’am Charleen gives clear guidance on how to use the Ms FrontPage image tools in resizing and adjusting images.

Moving on, I will continue to improve my skills in web design, especially in using MS FrontPage to more efficient. Also, continue to explore the various features and tools of MS FrontPage even more user friendly. I confident that knowledge and skills I gained throughout this journey in ICT 10 will be useful in my future endeavors.

GETTING CLOSER

 I still question what my life would like be 15 years from now. I keep asking myself: Will I be able to become an engineer? Will all my hard work pay off?. But sometimes, it’s hard not to wonder if I’m really getting closer to that goal in life. I believe in God’s perfect timing, I will be able to achieve all my dreams in life such as becoming an engineer, buying all the things I want and definitely giving back my parents for their unconditional sacrifices since I was born.

But, I know that dreams don’t always come true in short time.There will be struggles, setbacks, and obstacles that I experienced along the way. I realize that every time we meet our destination we will be always dealing with obstacles that can lead us into a new goal to strive for. It takes time, patience, and a lot of hard work to achieve our goals in life. Because of that I continue to strive harder and I find motivation not only my dreams but also in the people around me in reaching my goals in life. 

While the journey towards my dreams may be difficult and challenging, I remain committed to pushing forward with hard work and determination. We all know that success won’t come easy but with patience, I will be get closer to my goals. Moreover, I will achieve what I always hoped for and be able to give back to those who believed me from the beginning.

WE for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society: A Call of Action

 

Every month of March, Philippines celebrates National Women’s Day with activities and initiatives. This year theme is "WE for Gender Equality and an Inclusive Society" emphasize the importance of an action in achieving gender equality and fostering a inclusive society. It highlights that gender equality is that cannot be achieved by a single individual or group alone, but rather requires the involvement of everyone in society.

“We” represents both women and everyone highlighting the collective responsibility for achieving gender equality. This responsibility requires the involvement of all sectors. Also stands for Women Empowerment, a goal that can be achieved when allowing everyone work together to ensure equal opportunities and have equal rights. “Gender Equality” is a fundamental goal in advancing women’s rights. This also serves as call of action for both women and everyone to advocate and promote equality and inclusivity. “Inclusive Society” it gives everyone regardless of their gender identity, abilities, status or background. It's a place where everyone has equal rights and responsibilities and actively participates.

In conclusion, the importance of collective action in the achieving of gender equality and inclusivity. By empowering women and ensuring equal rights for all, we move closer to building a truly inclusive society where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their gender identity, background or status. This National Women’s Day serves as a powerful call to action for all of us to work together toward a more equitable world.
