CBR JOURNEY

 These photographs document our journey in creating our CBR and web pages. 

In creating our CBR, we first decide on what topic and certain barangay will be conducted on. Then, sharing our thoughts and ideas on how we should make our CBR and web pages. Our leader said each one of us should choose 2 parts of the CBR to work on, which I choose the media gallery and conclusion. 

Here, we decided to conduct our CBR in Barangay 8 because the schedule of the participants in the first barangay we choose does not match our time. Additionally, these are the questionnaires and a letter of permission to conduct and requesting a copy of the community profile.

These was the pictures while the Sk Chairman of Brgy. 8 was answering our questions about pollution and waste management in their barangay.

In doing our web pages, my teammates use the HTML tags and a little bit of CSS. They make a template that will be easy for us to do our parts. We managed to pass and finish it on time despite the struggle we had.

Our hard work, patience and dedication have paid off in making our web pages.The process was struggling and challenging, but we stayed focus and determined. We can now enjoy the success of our teamwork and the quality of our work.

LEARNINGS THIS QUARTER

Quarter 3 has a lot of learnings. I learned about HTML list, HTML frames and also tackled CBR. Throughout the past quarters, we have discovered HTML , which helps us to create our own web pages through HTML. In doing our CBR, collaboration and helping each other is essential in creating our work easier and faster.

Beyond the learning,it also has problems we encountered. I discovered challenges in doing our quiz 2, forgetting to include slash end tags that lead to code errors. Always struggling on how I manage my time in working my requirements and quiz reviews.

As the saying goes, every challenges we encounter has a solution to address it. I address this by simply the help of my classmates and our teacher. They help me to fix my errors in doing coding activities. Also, time management is very important to us students because this can help us prioritize our work and not lead in stress and cramming. Moreover, prioritizing and setting up a schedule in doing my requirements.

Moving on, I will be improving my coding skills that may help me to get better in doing my work. I hope these lessons can help me to better understand how to do HTML codes. That helps me in my future endeavors.

A JOYFUL CELEBRATION OF FILIPINO-CHINESE COMMUNITIES

 Chinese New Year also known as Lunar New Year because the dates of celebrations follow the phases of the moon and a important holiday of chinese communities. This celebration became possible of the proclamation declared by President Benigno S. Aquino III, stating that this "is a manifestation of our solidarity with our Chinese-Filipino brethren who have been part of our lives in many respects as a country and as a people."

In Philippines, chinese new year is a holiday that give both Filipino and Filipino-Chinese communities to celebrates their families to get together and reunited.

In chinese culture, visiting the oldest and seniors members of the family is an important part in their tradition. Most family members bring their favorite foods to share it with others, and older members give money or “angpao” to children. Angpao is a red envelope that contains money that is being believed that this is ensure that one has money entering the new year. Also, the most important delicious meals in chinese culture are the tikoy, long noodles, fish, dumplings, and spring rolls for Lunar New Year. The most popular food is the tikoy that also known as glutinous rice cake that represents success, while its stickiness indicates a healthy relationship and bond with the family.

Aside from family traditions, chinese culture also includes street performances. In binondo, the Manila Chinatown , where the dragons and lions dances. That this tradition is believed brings prosperity and good fortune.

Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year, is a joyful occasion celebrated by Filipino and Filipino-Chinese communities in the Philippines. This holiday emphasizes family reunions, where families gather, share traditional foods like tikoy, and exchange "angpao" for good fortune. The vibrant street performances in Binondo, Manila's Chinatown, featuring dragon and lion dances, add to the festive that symbolize prosperity. This celebration fosters cultural appreciation and honors rich traditions.

Viva VIGAN!

 Vigan City was a living testament to Philippine history and culture.  Its well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture with the traditional Ilocano culture that makes the town a famous tourist attraction. Its a journey from a municipality to UNESCO World Heritage City and recognized as one of the New 7 Wonders Cities of the World.

Before it became city, Vigan was a historical town in Ilocos Region. Known for its Spanish colonial architecture, it was a center for trade and culture. Its streets were lined with beautiful old houses, many of which still stand today. Vigan life was a quiet and simple. Its attract visitors who came to admire its well-preserved heritage.

Now Vigan celebrates the 24th Anniversary of Cityhood of Vigan, the city reflects on its journey from a quiet town to a vibrant city. The city became famous for its cobbled streets, Vigan Cathedral, and the “Calle Crisologo,” which has become one of the most iconic historical places in the Philippines. And still preserved to its unique spanish architecture and traditions. Moreover, its feels like stepping back in time, a unforgettable experiences that truly enjoyable.

In conclusion, Vigan City’s transformation from a quiet town to a UNESCO World Heritage City is a journey to highlights its rich history and culture. Its well-preserved Spanish colonial buildings, cobbled streets, and ancestral homes. Its enduring legacy of the past, while embracing the future. A visit to Vigan is more than just a trip, its an unforgettable journey in stepping back in time.

A BETTER ME THIS YEAR

As 2025 begins, many of us are reflecting ourselves on the past years and have a goal for future. The famous phrase " New Year, New Me", defines for a self-improvement and change. It is the opportunity to our self to step into a better version of our life. This year, I want to improve my study habits, and how I able to handle criticism. I aim that this will be create a change that will help me to grow.

Past years, cramming is my habit that I have struggled. While other see it is the easy way a quick fix for deadlines, but it in my experience is not an effective study habits.But this year, I plan to have a better study habits. Instead of doing our requirements until the last minute, I will surely manage my time effectively.

I want to work on how to handle criticism more effectively. For years, I have struggle with negative feedback personally, I often came to my mind "It's always a joke " and let it be. 

But this year, I want to refrain my mindset when it comes in criticism.With that criticism, I strive to see on my improvement. The help of this, I reminding myself that no one is perfect and everyone has a room for opportunity to grow. I will focus on my growth rather than crying over the criticism that I receive.

As we enter a new year, I take on improving these challenges of my life. Each of this goals requires self-discipline and effort to have a progress this challenges. The new year give a start for improvements.

CHRISTMAS VACATION MEMORY

December was a memorable month every year. The anticipation of holiday and the upcoming vacation. Honestly, I spent my vacation was nothing like going out of towns, mostly I spent at our house doing relaxing stuff and away from my school works 

I usually spent my holidays with my family and relatives. On the christmas eve, my mother and I preparing of food for noche buena. At night, we went to our relatives house and  we wait until midnight to  celebrate christmas. We ate and played games while waiting 

Christmas day was all about spending time together with our loved ones, enjoying the break. The true essence of christmas is importance of love and happiness within a family .

WOMEN’S RIGHT

 Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) Act of 2004, and Republic Act (R.A.) No. 9262 

RA 8353 (The Anti-Rape Law of 1997)

This law redefines rape as a crime against person highlight that it violates an individual well-being and not just one’s virginity or purity. Also, consider that any person whether a prostituted person, non-virgin or one who has an active sexual life may be victimized by rape. The law classifies rape as public offense that enables anyone who has knowledge of the crime may file a case on the victim’s behalf.

Rape committed in many circumstances like trough force, threat or intimidation, the victim is deprived of reason or is unconscious, trough machination and the victim is underage. Penalties varies based on the crime, Reclusion Perpetua if the rape committed through sexual intercourse and the Prision Mayor was committed through oral or anal sex. Victims with this law is advised to seek counseling, a secure safe shelter, have evidences, obtain medico-legal certificate and receive a support along the way when she file a case.

Republic Act 7877: Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995

The law declares that all forms of sexual harassment unlawful in employment, education, and training environments, emphasizing the human dignity and rights. It defines work, education, or training-related sexual harassment as any unwelcome sexual advances made by persons in positions of authority, such as employers or educators. The law mandates employers and educational institutions to prevent sexual harassment, establish procedures for reporting and investigating complaints, and create committees to address these issues. Moreover, it holds employers liable for harassment if they fail to act upon receiving complaints. 

Penalties for violate the law include imprisonment and fines, and victims retain the right to pursue independent legal action for damages. The law underscores the importance of creating safe environments free from sexual harassment, with provisions for its implementation and enforcement.
